Plein Air

Plein air painting, simply put, is painting outdoor scenery in the outdoors (rather than in a studio, for example). They allow the artist to quickly capture the expression and emotion of the moment. In addition to being paintings on their own, they serve as inspiration for my pieces that I work on in the studio.
